Hello Wordansers,

From August 3rd to 6, all eyes will be on Montreal.

The reason, it is within this beautiful city that will be held the 10th edition of the “almost” Mode & Design week!

For the occasion, McGill College Avenue was draped in her finery.

The Festival Mode & Design is one of the fashion events that have been able to invest the urban environment.

The creators are inspired by it, Mastering its codes while adding  their own style to it.

That edition will be without a doubt simply amazing!
A  reason for that, Jean-Paul Gaultier, one of the pioneers in this field will present his models “BOURGEOISE SANS ÂGE”.

Event not to be missed.

What kind of statement is this t-shirt making?

I came across this t-shirt today.

 Balmain Slashed army t-shirt

Balmain Slashed army t-shirt

The description says: Go for stylishly dishevelled cool in Balmain’s olive green distressed detail cotton t-shirt. Work the runway look by teaming this statement staple with cargo pants and ankle boots for a luxe spin on utility chic. Shown here with Balmain shoes, jacket, pants and clutch.

Price tag? Guess. You’ll never guess…. Are you ready? Are you sitting down? You should… Sit… Brace yourself… Here it goes… Wait… Maybe you should get some water too…. I don’t want you to faint or throw up a little in your mouth… Go… I’ll wait… Yer back? Good… Ready? The t-shirt sells for one thousand six hundred and twenty five dollars. That’s $1625.

I really thought there was a typo. Is this “fashion house” for real? Has anyone purchased this t-shirt? and more importantly, why would anyone buy a t-shirt full of holes that looks like a military discard? We throw our old t-shirts full of holes out. Not buy one full of holes. It’s insulting to my intelligence.

So I ask you: What is the very maximum you would ever pay for an unbranded designer t-shirt? I’m really dying to know. Leave a comment here or fan us on Facebook and leave your answer on the the Wall.

If for whatever reason you actually like this t-shirt, here’s a tip: Wordans sells American Apparel t-shirts for $14.95 CAD and we even have ‘em in Army Green.

Save yourself the other $1610.05. At this price you can even afford to screw up your first sheering and slashing attempt ;)

Key wardrobe staple for spring 2010 fashion: The trench!

One of the key pieces seen all over the runways for Spring 2010 is the trench coat. Seen here paired with a pale graphic t, coordinated pants, aviator sunglasses and contrasting scarf tied around the neck. The classic wardrobe piece is back, but with an updated look.

Spotted: Gabriel Aubry and his super-cute family

How stylish and gorgeous is this Montrealer, eh? Gabriel Aubry always look amazing no matter where the papper catch him. Here he is looking fab in dark denim jeans, white Stan Smith-like sneaks, a weathered greenish leather coat and aviator sunglasses… and a plain dark grey t. I like fashion when it’s simple like this. Don’t you?

I love my boyfriend…'s t-shirt!

When I talk about fashion, I can’t help thinking about that sentence: “The only thing that goes out of fashion is fashion, and that’s fashion that catch on” (translation from the French: “Il n’y a qu’une chose qui se démode:  la mode, et c’est la mode qui emporte le succès”

I think I was nine when I heard that sentence for the first time; it was for our end-of-year-show, each student had to choose a poem from our handbook and recite it on the D-Day.

One of my friends wanted something short that would take him about 10 seconds to retain. I had chosen a very long one and my friend and his short sentence came and left and his performance must have lasted 7 seconds all told; but I have to admit the sentence was really good. Originally, this quote was written by Pierre Reverdy in 1956 and I think it illustrates fashion quite well .

The trend (even though I hate that word) is towards ‘boyfriend’ at the present time, I must confess I followed it, and I must add that I wore before long ago all the magazines started to talk about it (really long ago in fact, I’ve worn ‘boyfriend’ for years). But what is ‘boyfriend’ ?(yes it’s someone you kiss and you hang around with, but we’re talking about fashion, not linguistics!) something ‘boyfriend’ is a piece of clothing you borrow from your boyfriend, and which is consequently a bit too large (ideally, unless you boyfriend is 4 feet tall and weighs 62 pounds
